The RAC has been coming to the rescue of its members for over 120 years and has an unrivalled reputation for innovation and customer service.

Today we are changing the nature of vehicle breakdown and recovery with state-of-the-art remote diagnostics, world-leading telematics. Every RAC patrol is highly trained, fully equipped with a modern patrol van and a comprehensive toolkit to fix our members’ vehicles.

We are proud to be the motorist’s champion. We serve over 8.6 million members and our patrols attend over 2.2m breakdowns a year, repairing four out of five vehicles at the roadside.

Our team of expert patrols deliver exceptional service 365 days a year, fixing on average four out of five vehicles at the roadside. They are backed up by our technical operations team, regular training and the support of our professional contact team to deliver the very best service for our members.

Your mission…

For today’s roadside technicians it’s all about utilising your technical know-how and IT skills to diagnose and repair our members’ vehicles. You will be responsible for getting our members back on the road as swiftly as possible, maintaining the RAC’s reputation for outstanding customer satisfaction.

So what are we looking for in you?

  • Proven commercial vehicle mechanic expertise
  • Passion for providing great service, putting customers first and going above and beyond for our members
  • Full driving licence
  • Qualifications including a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance, qualification from IMI, NVQ or City & Guilds
  • Flexibility – your shifts will include evenings and early mornings, weekends and bank holidays, and there is the opportunity to do overtime

Recovery Services

RAC boasts an impressive Recovery Services function for our members.  Operating with a large fleet of Iveco, DAF and MAN vehicles across the whole of the country, each is equipped with the highest standard of equipment that is available to the industry. The Recovery Team is an integral offering of the services we provide to our members and we would love you to learn more about joining this dedicated team.

Fuel & Tyre Patrols

Every year a large number of drivers put the wrong fuel in their car and the RAC has a dedicated team of technicians that carry specialised equipment to drain, flush and repair these vehicles. Additionally we also have a specific Mobile Tyre team with the latest tyre and balancing equipment to help get our members back on the road.

Technical Training

The RAC provides Automotive Technical Training to many high-profile motor manufacturers. RAC technical trainers deliver training directly to the manufacturer dealer network, helping them to keep dealerships and technicians up to date with the latest technical innovations, how they work and how to diagnose and repair thereby improving fix rates.
